O, bu iste\u011fi, \u0130ngilizlerin \u0130stanbul\u2019u i\u015fgal etmi\u015f olmas\u0131 ve yak\u0131n ge\u00e7mi\u015fte \u0130ngiltere\u2019nin \u0130slam d\u00fcnyas\u0131nda uygulad\u0131\u011f\u0131 siyaseti dikkate alarak ele alm\u0131\u015ft\u0131. Konuyla ilgili g\u00f6r\u00fc\u015f ve tekliflerini bir yandan devrin padi\u015fah\u0131 ve \u00f6nde gelen siyasi liderlerine arz ederken, di\u011fer yandan bu g\u00f6r\u00fc\u015flerini hem gazeteler arac\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131yla, hem de \u00e7\u0131kt\u0131\u011f\u0131 seyahatlerde bire bir ve toplu g\u00f6r\u00fc\u015fmeler yoluyla topluma anlatm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Bu te\u015febb\u00fcslerini sadece \u0130stanbul ve Anadolu halk\u0131 ile de s\u0131n\u0131rl\u0131 tutmam\u0131\u015f, g\u00f6r\u00fc\u015flerini, \u015eam\u2019a giderek Arap alimlerine de aktarm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">Bu g\u00f6r\u00fc\u015flere k\u0131saca da olsa de\u011finmek istiyorum. Farkl\u0131 kimlik ve inan\u00e7lar\u0131n ifade edilmesini, garip, tan\u0131ms\u0131z \u201ckamusal alan\u201d kavram\u0131yla siyasi ve sosyal zeminlerde g\u00f6r\u00fcnmez k\u0131lmak isteyen ve bu alandaki demokratik talepleri, \u00fclkeyi ve rejimi tehdit eden tehlikeler olarak g\u00f6ren bir siyasi yap\u0131y\u0131 hangi M\u00fcsl\u00fcman \u00fclke kendine \u00f6rnek alacakt\u0131?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">T\u00fcrkiye bug\u00fcnk\u00fc haliyle ne din ve vicdan \u00f6zg\u00fcrl\u00fc\u011f\u00fc a\u00e7\u0131s\u0131ndan, ne de insan haklar\u0131 ve demokrasi a\u00e7\u0131s\u0131ndan herhangi bir \u00fclke ya da topluma \u00f6rnek olma \u015fans\u0131na sahip g\u00f6z\u00fckm\u00fcyor. T\u00fcrkiye\u2019nin, ba\u015fkas\u0131na \u00f6rnek olmaktan \u00f6nce kendi meselelerine \u00e7\u00f6z\u00fcm bulmas\u0131 gerekiyor.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\"><strong><em>\u201cT\u00fcrkiye\u2019nin tam anlam\u0131yla ne Avrupa\u2019da, ne de \u0130slam d\u00fcnyas\u0131nda iyi bir yere sahip oldu\u011funu s\u00f6yleyemeyiz&#8230; \u0130slam \u00fclkelerinin \u00e7o\u011fu T\u00fcrkiye\u2019yi \u00f6z\u00fcnden uzakla\u015fm\u0131\u015f bir toplum olarak g\u00f6r\u00fcyorlar. Baz\u0131 kurumlar\u0131n i\u00e7inde olsa da, Avrupa da tam olarak T\u00fcrkiye\u2019yi kabul etmi\u015f de\u011fil. Belki \u015feklen \u00f6yle, ama ruhen de\u011fil&#8230; S\u00f6zde M\u00fcsl\u00fcman\u2019\u0131z, ama adeta \u0130slam\u2019la ilgisi olmayan bir M\u00fcsl\u00fcman gibi davran\u0131yoruz.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">Bu s\u00f6zler Prof. Kemal Karpat\u2019a ait. Prof. Karpat, bu tavr\u0131n T\u00fcrkiye\u2019yi Do\u011fu\u2019da da, Bat\u0131\u2019da da \u201cmaskara\u201d yapt\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131, \u00e7\u00fcnk\u00fc gelene\u011fine, ge\u00e7mi\u015fine ve halk\u0131n\u0131n temel inan\u00e7lar\u0131na sayg\u0131 g\u00f6stermeyen bir devlete Avrupal\u0131lar\u0131n asla sayg\u0131 duymayaca\u011f\u0131n\u0131 kaydediyor. T\u00fcrkiye\u2019nin saltanattan, \u0130slam\u2019\u0131n \u00f6z\u00fcne daha uygun olan, cumhuriyete ge\u00e7mesini yerinde ve anlaml\u0131 buldu\u011funu, ama devletle halk aras\u0131ndaki birlikteli\u011fin Cumhuriyet d\u00f6neminde Osmanl\u0131dan daha k\u00f6t\u00fc bir noktaya gitti\u011fine dikkat \u00e7ekiyor. Karpat\u2019a g\u00f6re i\u00e7eride ve d\u0131\u015far\u0131da T\u00fcrkiye\u2019nin \u00f6n\u00fcn\u00fc a\u00e7acak \u201c\u0130slam siyaseti\u201d form\u00fcl\u00fc i\u00e7in uzaklara gitmeye gerek yok. Devletin, \u201cK\u00fclt\u00fcr\u00fcm\u00fcz, ki\u015fili\u011fimiz tarihte Osmanl\u0131 olarak \u0130slam\u2019la yo\u011frulup geli\u015fti. Biz bu k\u00fclt\u00fcre mensubuz\u2019 demesi yeterli.
