On 1-4 November 2007, about 300 respected and patriotic intellectuals set off to go to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) with the slogan "defending Turkey begins in Northern Cyprus". By means of efficient and important conferences, seminars and visits, a meeting was organized with the aim of supporting our people on the island and our justified action. Historic and courageous messages were then delivered to USA, EU, imperialist and Zionist centres.

As we gathered at the meeting place after meeting, we noticed Mr. Rauf Denktaş's son Serdar Denktaş, TRNC Minister of Foreign Affairs. Acting like a special agent of a secret service, he watched from afar and went away.  He even didn't stop to say "welcome".

In other words; Serdar Denktaş didn't even find it necessary to make a welcome speech and express his gratitude to us – the guests who travelled a long way from Turkey to stand by them. This inappropriate and ill-mannered behaviour deeply hurt and offended us more than Greek Cypriots.

             O' Serdar Denktaş!

Would your Israeli or American companions tell you off if you had said "welcome" to us?

Would your Greek and Greek Cypriot fellows be angry with you?

Would your European crusaders take offence?

Or would your President Talat rebuke you?

Don't you have any characteristics of a Turk?

How could you be so indifferent to the Cyprus case that you have gained great benefits from?

If a committee of rabbis from bloodthirsty Israel were likely to come to TRNC, you would probably welcome them with flowers and ceremonies…!

If a group of crusading missionaries from Europe came, you would welcome them respectfully!

If a group of lesbians and gays from Greece were to visit you on a touristic trip, you would be jubilant for it.

You would hold a state ceremony if songstresses, belly dancers, transsexuals from Turkey went there to dance or gamble.

If the members of the Masons, Rotarian and Lions clubs, which were shut down by Atatürk, since they were foreign-rooted units of Imperialist-Zionist centres paid you a visit, you would definitely lay out a red carpet to welcome and express your respects.

However, when the committee of Talat Pasha arrived, and among them were very meritorious and respected professors, instructors and scholars, you didn't think of greeting or even saying welcome.

There were Cypriot Veterans and esteemed officers and pashas.

There were prominent Party Leaders, opinion leaders and statesmen.

There were fathers of our martyrs, our respectable elders, worthy artists and retired teachers who, at the age of eighty five, joined this organization with national feelings and with their savings while living on a small salary.

It is no wonder that you don't have enough intelligence to perceive the importance of this comittee, but why didn't you take into account the sake and endeavours of families, martyrs and veterans of  Muratağa, Sandallar ve Taşkent.

            Mr. Serdar Denktaş, you must have listened to Kamil Simtaş, whom you are supposed to know and who lost his beloved wife and five children just before the Cyprus landing. On the Martyrs' Memorial he told;

During Cyprus Peace Operation 1974, Greek Cypriot plunderers and EOKA supporters (National Organisation of Cypriot Fighters) pursued by Turkish soldiers slaughtered Turkish civilians whose sons and husbands were taken captive. Ferocious and barbarian Greek Cypriots entered Muratağa village one morning in August; they seized all villagers, children and women who were waiting in fear in their houses and they killed them all in a place called garbage dump in the east of the village and threw garbage on dead villagers. Upon finding out about what happened to the lost villagers, the mass graves were dug and the villagers were buried there in a mass.

Martyrs' villages refer to Muratağa, Sandallar and Atlılar. Sandallar is to the east of Murataga.  On the same date, that is on 14th August, Greek Cypriot plunderers also went to the Sandallar village and slaughtered village people waiting in terror and fear together with the people of Murataga village.

            Another example is Atlılar village.

As it was in other two villages, Greek Cypriot murderers, in the morning of 14th August, came here, as well. They herded all defenceless and innocent villagers into a reedy field in a river bank. The villagers shot here were buried almost alive and covered with earth moved by bulldozers and the earth was levelled by road rollers in case they could be found.  The martyrs were later moved to present martyrdom after this mass grave had been discovered.

In Taşkent, a village in the south, Greek Cypriots and Greeks living in the village reported that they will do no harm providing Turks would surrender their arms to UN Peacekeeping Forces and Peacekeeping Forces promised that they would maintain or re-establish peace in the village. Nevertheless, breaking their promise Peacekeeping Forces took the arms and deserted the village. Greek Cypriots getting into the Turkish territory gathered all men, took them to Limassol, executed exactly 90 Turkish men by shooting and buried them into the mass grave that they had just dug. Only one Turkish man, Suat Hüseyin, was able to escape though seriously wounded in this massacre and witnessed the genocide.

The world press reviews about the Greek Cypriots' massacres in 1974

USA United Press International (UPI) Reporter, Witness

"The human mind cannot comprehend the Greeks butchery. Greek National Guard … entering the Turkish homes, ruthlessly rained bullets on women and children, they cut the throats of many Turks; rounding up the Turkish women, they … raped them all …"

USA United Press International (UPI), 23.07.1974

"The Greeks killed many women and children in Limassol. I have seen the bodies of 20 children lying on the road…some were wounded and crying…the Greek soldiers are waiting like vultures for their turn to break into the Turkish houses and kill women…"

            France Soir Reporter, Witness

            France Soir Newspaper 24.07.1974

"I saw with my own eyes the shameful incidents. The Greek burned Turkish mosques and set fire to the Turkish homes in the villages around Famagusta. Defenseless Turkish villagers, who have no weapons, live in an atmosphere of terror created by the Greek Cypriot murderers. The Greeks with their bazookas create total chaos in the Turkish villages. The Greek's action is a shame to humanity."

            The Washington Post, Witness…

            The Washington Post, Witness 23.07.1974

"In Alaminos village near Larnaca 14 Turks aged between 25 and 55 were massacred and their corpses were thrown into pits with bulldozers. In a Greek raid on a small village near Limassol, 36 people out of the population of 200 were killed. The Greeks said they had been given orders to kill the inhabitants before the Turkish forces arrived."

John AKASS, The Sun Paper's Correspondent, Witness

            The Sun, 30.9.1974

"Turkish residents in the Murağata Village were massacred on 16th August. They were mostly old persons, women and children. They were killed by civilian Greek Cypriots from neighbouring villages on the second day of the Turkish attack. While Turks were digging out these 1 meter deep death holes, Greek Cypriots killed them. This is certainly not a war but a clear act of horrendous atrocity. "

Hans Janitscher, Secretary General of the Socialist International Organization, Witness: (25.07.1974)

"The Guard force commanded by the pro-Greece Nikos Sampson killed more than 2000 pro-Makarios Turkish Cypriots during the coup clashes and after the coup they executed some Turkish Cypriots."

Lars Harkanson, the UN Peace Keeping Force's Representative in Cyprus

            (October 1974)

The massacre by Greek Cypriots in Atlılar village…

"I have never witnessed such acts of barbarism and calamity during my lifetime. I never saw such things in my lifetime. I am pleased that we have been assigned to investigate the case. The whole world will have learned about this brutality from the Peace-Keeping Force."

USA United Press International (UPI) Reporter, Witness…

"This is a statement by an eye-witness: 'Greek soldiers were firing everywhere. I entered into a house. Greeks were raping a woman. I shut my eyes and ran away.'"

            Warsaw Radio: (23.07.1974)

"The whole world curses this bloody and violent attack perpetrated in Lefke and Baf under the command of Greek officers."

            Bugh DIXION,

Head of the United Kingdom Citizens' Association in Cyprus, Witness…

"Garturede LOIGH, an English woman who gave a glass of water to a Turk in the Cyprus war in return for their goodness, was killed deliberately by the Greek Cypriot National Guard soldier."

            English Sun Paper's Correspondent, Witness…

"I witnessed the disaster in Muratağa. It is very strange to comment on such violent acts. However, what can be added to the fact that a violent murder was committed? What Greek Cypriots and Greeks did is atrocious."

            Reported by CBS Television, USA

            USA, CBS Television 22.09.1974

"Corpses of 88 Turkish Cypriots have been discovered on a rubbish heap, in Nicosia. These people had been gunned down by Greek Cypriots and Greeks and before their murder they had been tied up with wire. The heads of some of the corpses had been severed from the bodies."

            Bild Paper's Correspondent, Witness…

            Bild Paper 26.07.1974

"Greek Cypriots performed raids like bloodthirsty murderers on Turkish villages and killed the civilians brutally.

The WASHINGTON POST 23 July 1974

"In a Greek raid on a small village near Limassol, 36 people out of the population of 200 were killed. The Greeks said they had been given orders to kill the inhabitants before the Turkish forces arrived."

Voice of GERMANY, 30 July 1974

"The human mind can not comprehend the Greeks butchery. Greek National Guard…entering the Turkish homes, ruthlessly rained bullets on women and children, they cut the throats of many Turks; rounding up the Turkish women, they…raped them all…"

            The LONDON TIMES, 22 July1974

"…In the island, thousands of Turks were held as hostages. Turkish women were raped and Turkish children killed on the streets. The Turkish Quarter in Limassol was burnt down. The incidents have been confirmed by Greek Cypriots."

Now Serdar Denktaş…we see that you don't mind the national and honourable attempts of the patriotic intellectuals and high-ranking officers who came from Turkey; but can't you see and appreciate the importance of the memory of our beloved martyrs and independence of these people!!!

"Your sons are our guests now" said Mustafa Kemal to the relatives of Anzac soldiers now lying in Çanakkale.

With these words Mustafa Kemal emphasized that not only foreigners and living enemies of our country but even the dead ones could not claim ownership on our sacred lands; they could only be guests on these lands!

Today, those who are giving away the lands of our country in parcels for the sake of their own benefits and positions and as well as those who are insulting Atatürk by shamelessly going beyond the limits and pretending to be religious and hero… And Serdar Denktaş and the ones alike who contribute to the AKP's government… When will you get rid of this unawareness and aberrance?

Serdar Denktaş knows well that: England did not include her Cyprus-located military bases into EU. If these bases had been included into EU, the possibility would be small for USA to use these bases against petroleum-rich Islamic World due to the competition between them.

Because with the fallacy of moderate Islam, Zionist and Imperialist USA would first destabilise the Republican values and guidance of national forces in Turkey and bring the radical followers of sharia to the places of moderate Islam and then would attack Turkey with the pretext to do away with Islamic Terror (!) which they proclaimed as a threat and a hazard for the West civilization.

And Mehmet Ali Talat, Serdar Denktaş and the ones alike have also been contributing to the insidious and evil plans of USA and EU just like Tayyib Erdoğan and the ones alike.
