The Military and Strategic Genius of Yahya Sinwar

Yahya Sinwar was born in 1962, in the Khan Younis Refugee Camp in the Gaza Strip. He was commonly referred to as “Abu Ibrahim” by those around him. His family relocated to Ascalon during the 1948 Arab-Israeli war. In 1989, he was arrested for killing two Israeli soldiers and four local collaborators, for which he received four life sentences and spent a full 22 years in Israeli prisons. While he was in the prison, he successfully managed to become fluent in Hebrew (the Jewish language) and began to carefully following their radio and TV broadcasts, as well as newspaper columns. He kept this important secret hidden for a long time, secretly transmitting the intelligence he gathered from Zionist officials to the Hamas fighters he organized outside. Eventually, in 2006, he planned the abduction and holding hostage of an Israeli intelligence officer by Hamas fighters, a figure of significant strategic importance. Following his instructions sent from prison, this Israeli intelligence officer (IDF soldier Gilad Shalit), who had been kept highly confidential, was exchanged in 2011 for 1,026 imprisoned Hamas fighters, including Sinwar himself.

After the martyrdom of Haniyeh, Yahya Sinwar, who took over the leadership of Hamas, was added to the US terrorist list in 2015. Subsequently, on May 16, 2018, Yahya Sinwar made an unexpected statement on Al Jazeera, declaring that Hamas would adopt a “peaceful and conciliatory Popular Resistance,” raising hopes in some countries that Hamas might engage in direct negotiations with Israel and strategically undermining the Zionists. At a press conference on May 27, 2021, he boldly challenged the Israeli Defense Minister, suggesting that he could be assassinated within an hour while walking home, a threat that did not deter Sinwar from walking in the streets himself. It was also Yahya Sinwar who proposed to exchange all Palestinian prisoners in Zionist prisons for the Israeli hostages captured during the blessed Hamas raids that began on October 7, 2023. He personally choose key abduction targets. Thus, Sinwar proved to be both a courageous and resilient commander, as well as a diplomat with remarkable political and strategic genius.

Yahya Sinwar was also revealed to be the mastermind behind the October 7, 2023, Hamas surprise attack on Israel, an event considered by the United States and the European Union (as well as all Western countries) as the “9/11 of the Middle East.” In this context, if Türkiye does not sincerely and courageously stand by Yahya Sinwar and take a genuine, not merely symbolic, stance against Israel, it could be considered a form of political suicide. This is because it is clear that neither Iran nor Hezbollah can effectively act against Israel. Even the slightest move by Iran to salvage its national dignity would inevitably lead to an onslaught from the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, and Germany. While Iran is entangled with these powers, Israel would likely seize control of all of Lebanon, including Hezbollah, and Syria, eventually targeting Türkiye via PKK militants whom they have prepared and armed. Because the Zionist Rabies’ Eretz Yisrael (promised holy land) included the eastern and southeastern part of Türkiye. Therefore, after the attacks on Iran and Lebanon, Türkiye would be the next target of Zionist and imperialist forces. In such a scenario, Türkiye could find itself isolated and defenseless against these evil forces, including Israel. Therefore, if Türkiye were to make a courageous and honorable stand today, both the nation and the region could be saved. However, the pious hero(!) Erdoğan government has shown a concerning lack of awareness and fear, failing to comprehend this clear danger and to take the necessary and sufficient measures. As a result, Türkiye’s urgent problem is to rid itself of this leadership and establish a National Reconciliation Government that aligns with the principles of Milli Çözüm (National Solution). Otherwise, even the mere possibility of a widespread attack on Türkiye could cause the already struggling economy to collapse. There is growing concern that the $40 billion in foreign funds currently circulating in Türkiye, primarily through high-interest loans, could flee at the slightest sign of instability, further destabilizing the economy. The Erdoğan government’s reliance on this speculative hot money, instead of fostering national investment and production, suggests that it may not be able to withstand the pressures much longer.

Yahya Sinwar was a much smarter and more successful Muslim mujahid than the Romanian Zionist Aaron Aaronsohn, who established the Jewish NILI spy organization during World War I to relay information from Ottoman soldiers to the British.

The Jewish “NILI” Spy Organization in Palestine and Its Devastations

During World War I, there was a Jewish female spy named Sarah Aaronsohn, renowned for her beauty, who managed to infiltrate the inner circle (even the bed) of Cemal Pasha, one of the three prominent leaders of the Second Constitutional Era in Ottoman Empire, while he was fighting on the Suez Canal front. Driven by the dream of establishing a country exclusively for Jews, she sided with the British during the World War I and worked for the British intelligence agency.

During World War I, Jewish girls exploited the weaknesses of Ottomans’ Unionist commanders and officers on the front lines, secretly stealing their military plans or extracting information about potential military operations. Sarah Aaronsohn’s mission was precisely this. However, she was a bit more dangerous than other Jewish spies. She would steal Cemal Pasha’s plans and quickly transmit them via telegraph or through her spy network to British commanders.

This British Jewish spy was a woman who had great confidence in herself and her beauty, so much so that she managed to captivate even Cemal Pasha.

In fact, the issue of Jewish spies working with the British in Palestine during World War I was not new to Turkish political and war literature. The name NILI, which was the name of a Jewish network and became synonymous with Sarah, was introduced to the Turkish public through some books published in the 1930s. The person who documented this rare espionage case was Cevat Rıfat Atilhan, who served as a captain during World War I. He was the aide-de-camp to Mersinli Cemal Pasha, the Commander of the Fourth Army, part of the Yıldırım Army Group on the Palestine-Syria Front. He was also temporarily appointed as the head of army intelligence.

The reports provided by the NILI organization considered the predecessor of Mossad, were meticulously implemented by the British during the Gaza Battles. Despite this, the Turkish military managed to defend Jerusalem with exceptional heroism during these battles. The NILI spy network was structured against the Turks during World War I by the Romanian Zionist Aaron Aaronsohn. The field operations of this organization were carried out by Aaron’s sister, Sarah Aaronsohn. This network, particularly through the use of female agents, gathered tactical information about Turkish officers’ headquarters, equipment, and war preparations, which was then relayed to the British.

Particularly, the famous Unionist Ahmet Cemal Pasha was under close surveillance by this organization.

Any intelligence concerning Cemal Pasha was of great importance to the British, as he was the Ottoman Pasha responsible for defending against the attack on Gaza. Up until 1916, Ottoman intelligence had not gathered sufficient information about either Aaron or Sarah and, in truth, was unaware of their existence for two years.

Sarah first drew the attention of Ottoman intelligence following the exposure of her ex-husband, Haim Abraham. Although Haim was not directly operating on behalf of NILI, his involvement in other espionage activities led to increased surveillance of his former wife, Sarah.

The General Directorate of Security of Ottoman, finally became aware in 1917 that a group of Zionist Jews, particularly those arriving from Europe, was conducting intelligence operations in the region stretching from Adana to Gaza. In fact, the Ottoman State had previously uncovered and taken necessary measures against other spy networks operating in the areas around Egypt and Jerusalem, supported by Jewish and Christian Arabs. However, Aaron had established such a careful and powerful structure that its activities remained concealed.

Finally, the existence and objectives of this organization were determined as follows:

1- Bribing Officers at the Afula Station in Palestine: The organization sought to obtain officers through bribery at the Afula station, using them to gather information on the daily number of trains passing south from Afula, as well as the number of soldiers, ammunition, provisions, artillery, aircraft, and transport vehicles, and then relay this information to the British.

2- Arranging Officers at the Deraa Station: Similar to Afula, they aimed to secure officers at the Deraa station to conduct intelligence activities as outlined in the first point.

3- Intelligence Gathering in Jerusalem: The organization sought to determine the presence of transportation in Jerusalem, as well as the number of soldiers, the identification numbers of battalions, and the names of their commanders.

4- Investigating Transportation in Various Regions: They aimed to investigate whether there was any transportation in areas like Jaffa, Nazareth, Acre, Haifa, Beersheba, and their surroundings.

5- Mapping Strategic Locations: The organization prepared a list of strategic locations, including the locations of automobiles, carts, and railway tracks, and the names of government officials and officers who were sympathetic to the Allied Powers. They also aimed to incite a rebellion against the Ottoman government by spending large sums of money, causing the population to flee and be provoked.

6- Supporting British Landing at Haifa: They planned to facilitate a British landing on the coast of Haifa by preparing this rebellion, particularly around Damascus and Aleppo.

7- Collaborating with Religious Figures: The organization intended to engage with Jewish clergy in Palestine, especially in Nazareth, and primarily with Catholic priests, to prepare for this rebellion.

8- Reporting on Strategic Resources: They aimed to document the number of wagons and machines present at the stations and to identify strategic locations along the Palestinian coast where fuel could be supplied to German submarines, then compile reports on these findings.

On October 16, 2024, when rabid Israel rained bombs on Gaza, killing innocent Palestinians and demolishing a home, among the martyrs was the heroic Mujahid Yahya Sinwar. And with this act, Zionist Israel was not sealing the fate of Hamas, but preparing its own end.
